Today i experionced some strange things.

I had some trouble with a windows 2003 guest, it crashed short
after startup.

A few hourls later i installed a fresh 2003 server (kvm),
updated with windows update, every thing went fine, until it
suddenly crashed on me, and i cannot start anymore.
how can i see what is happening while before its crashing?

pls also post your VM config (/etc/qemu-server/VMID.conf)

I tried an Intel nic, but that didn't improvo anything,
but this is how it worked for several months.

pm02:~# cat /etc/qemu-server/106.conf
name: server2003
ide2: none,media=cdrom
smp: 1
vlan0: virtio=F2:65:15:7E:67:F1
bootdisk: ide0
ide0: vm-106-disk.qcow2
ostype: w2k3
memory: 1024
onboot: 1
boot: dc
freeze: 0
cpuunits: 1000
acpi: 0
kvm: 1

update:

i enabled ACPI and can now start the guest.
this must be related somehow. The old server which
died, i remember also that i had switched acpi off in the past.

hi, nemesiz
i did use the e1000 nic the first time when it crashed.

Now i have switched to the intel e1000 and networking becomes very slow.
In my case virtio is way faster, any ideas? I did use the latest drivers so far i know.
