kvm: exiting hardware virtualization

Hey all.

So I am almost 100% set up on having a device running proxmox with no issues .
One final hurdle is getting the device to reboot through software.
It keeps hanging on reboot with the following error "kvm: exiting hardware virtualization".

I have run through the steps within the below post, but this does not seems to resolve anything for me...

Any other suggestions or ideas that could be worth trying?

There is a kernel parameter setting named reboot that you could try. My motherboard needed reboot=efi on older kernels, or it would just hang instead of rebooting. Maybe one of bios, acpi, kbd, triple, efi or pci can be a work-around for yours?

@gareth.smith problem solved. The kernel was having a null pointer deference, in the module for intel_pinctrl ( see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1948468 ). The solution in this thread of blacklisting this module fixed all the "byproducts" of slow bootup times and failure to reboot
