Since virtio is a better choice on kvm for the hdd interface I want to change that for my vm's. It works without a problem for the nic. But it is unclear to me whether it is possible for de hdd interface. So: is it possible en howto?

I'm very happy with my proxmox servers. Great work. seen nothing better!

depends on the guest OS, I published a howto for windows guests in this forum (just search).

hello

it's quite easy in fact:

Shutdown VM
Add new VirtIO HDD to your server (like a 1gb hdd)
Start VM
Use the virtio drivers for scsi controllers
Shutdown VM
Delete all harddisks
Re-add all harddisks with VIRTIO
Go to options, select your bootable HDD again.

Thats quite it.

Cheers!
