How do you guys keep up with your backups?
There aren't any sections to keep notes, or anyway to rename the backup file. I would much rather have a notes column, doesn't have to be intricate, just a note attached to a specific backup file. Similar to the notes in the front summary panel.
Unless there is a more professional way to keep up with them...

No solution but in trouble. Modified my environement after a total raid1 crash (3-4 app server) and mixed the VMs on a new base in a step by step manner.
(Shutdown, backup, restore on other app server). But now I miss a VM. Have to reinstall all VMs from Backup cause of new IDs during restore.
So a notes column or at least system name as part of vma file would help a lot.

This is the way i keep up with backups:
I have 2 backup servers, weekly and monthly. Proxmox cluster is setup to do backup on the Weekly backup storage only, 3 times a week. Proxmox keeps total of 12 recent weekly backups. At the end of each month, i manually copy the last backup of the week/month to the Monthly backup which has folder structure /YYYY/MONTH.

An option to categorize Proxmox backups in folder would be a good option i think. Future feature idea? :)

I use 3 pools: daily (these files are backuped daily by bareos; d/w/m), short (migration purposes or similar), archiv (long term).
Problem occurs when you have to restore a VM and ID is in use by new installed VM. If you want to keep up it's neccessary to do it manually.
Not very usefull I think.
