Jobs on unmounted removable datastore

Hi all,

We recently discovered that in PBS 3.4 one can make removable datastores. This is a great feature, and works well too however, jobs are executed regardless of the store presence.

Does anyone know if it is possible (or is planned to be implemented) to make jobs active only if the store is mounted?

We created a number of removable stores for testing, and each time they get triggered we receive email notification of the job failing.
It would be nice for jobs to run only on mounted stores or to have an option to enforce such behaviour.

Alternatively, I'd love to hear suggestions on how to filter notifications so they don't get send if the store wasn't mounted when the job run.

Cheers

Hi,

not sure if that was intended when we introduced removable datastores. Best to open a bug/feature request on https://bugzilla.proxmox.com
Either we should make it configurable (per job maybe?) or we should not throw an error in that case.

Hi @dcsapak,

Thanks for looking at this.
I'll open a new case in the bugzilla (just need to create a new account), as this might help others.

Not sure what the best option would be, but guess that something like "Run only when storage mounted" per job would be fine in our scenario. I will however, rely on proxmox team expertise for making best call with this.
