Hello,
It's me that can't read documentation (RTFM) or Proxmox Backup Server can only backup PVE stuff and Debian/Ubuntu clients ?
Right now @home I have PVE, vmware, linux and windows. With some FreeBSD and others in the Vms on PVE or vmware.
For example, I have an OpenBSD slave DNS running on ESXi.
@work I have linux that are and are not from debian family and windows Servers. For example an oracle linux server on a physical server.
Is PBS really unable to backup all of these ?
 
Yes. Unless you for example share the data via NFS/SMB to some Debian VM/LXC or PBS and then use the backup-client to backup those NFS/SMB mounts.
So not really a all-in-one backup solution.
