Hitting a wall with passing through a HDD for my setup. I have looked at various tutorials, articles, youtube videos and i have not been able to figure it out. Proxmox is installed. A VM with TrueNAS is also installed. I am trying to save the serial number of the HDD that i am trying to pass through to the VM but having issues with saving the serial number via the the below command line
nano /etc/pve/qemu-server/100.conf and adding ",serial=XXXXXXXXX" at the of the appropriate line.
hit CTRL+X and Y, Enter - i get stuck in a "Write to File: /etc/pve/qemu-server/100.conf" loop where the action is never saved. Serial number is missing from the HDD in TrueNAS so i am not able to add the disk to a pool.
Not sure what i am doing wrong.
Can anyone suggest a fix or point me in the right direction?
Machine is an HP Elitedesk G4 SFF with one 2.5" 256 GB SSD and WD Purple 6TB sata.
