Issues with Bootloader with RAID-1 on Proxmox 7.3

I am trying to install Proxmox 7.3 on a computer that previously ran Proxmox with no issues. When trying to install on a software RAID-1 configuration (either ZFS or BTRFS) I get an un-bootable system. For example, on ZFS I get the error

unable to init ESP and install proxmox-boot loader on /dev/nvme0n1p2
I have both SATA SSDs and NVME SSDs that I have tried to install the OS on. In general I prefer to use the SATA SSDs for the OS.

Software RAID is not an issue for this PC on any other OS; I just installed Alpine on RAID-1 on this PC to verify this. I have installed Proxmox over Debian in the past, but I would rather just fix this issue directly. I am not booting via CSM and do not have secure boot enabled.

Hi,

I would check the BIOS configuration if the boot order is set to boot from the correct drive and partition.

Hmm, apologies for the lack of clarity. I get that error on the install script, so it makes no difference what the boot order is. The error message is not erroneous, if I boot into the new system there is only a systemd-boot entry to reboot into the firmware interface.
