Issues installing server 2008

I am having an issues installing windows server 2008 standard. While trying to do the install I receive the error:
A required CD/DVD drive device drive is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

This is a brand new OEM server disc that I just unwrapped. I noticed that others on the forums had luck creating an iso then uploading it to proxmox. Others also seemed to be able to re-burn the disc they had and get the install to work. The DVD Drive is a Sata HP Model: DH-16DYS, I am just at a loss as to what the issue is. I have not been able to try a different drive as of yet. I am wondering if this is an issue with proxmox presenting the Sata controller to the guest OS. I appreciate any help that can be provided. update your host to the latest version and try again.
