[SOLVED] issue with network on proxmox

I just changed the IP address of my proxmox (running truenas, home assistant, and pihole),
Configured the /etc/network/interfaces file and the /etc/hosts file (checked etc/hostname)

I attached pics of the configurations; The main thing that I can see is under eno1: "state DOWN"
I have rebooted, and tried service networking restart and systemctl restart networking
I have also tried DHCP
I tried hooking this directly to a network switch with only a laptop (gave the laptop an IP of 192.168.2.17), and cannot ping the proxmox server, cannot ping the laptop from proxmox either. The network switch only had the laptop and the proxmox server hooked up (wifi was disabled for this test). Please help!

This was working before I moved some stuff around in my pfsense (different server, not on proxmox); Initially, I was able to access truenas and home assistant; but after changing IP address from CLI, I completely lost access to those 2 as well. Been fighting with this for a couple days now, and I'm at a loss... The pfsense port is 192.168.3.1 (was trying to get proxmox on 192.168.3.2, the 192.168.2.205:8006 was the configuration that worked before, I went back to that IP to test to see if I can make it work, plugged it back into port 2 of pfsense 192.168.2.1, and still no-go) so not sure if I royally messed something up; thinking that I now have to reinstall proxmox and start over... Hopefully I can get some help here, and get this beast working again.
