Issue with installing

Hey guys. I'm having an issue with installing Proxmox and I was hoping you guys could help.

I have the newest VE ISO. I'm running on 2x E5430's with 8GB of ram.

I get to the screen where I am prompted to hit return to begin the install. The problem is that I get a black screen as soon as I start this and nothing happens (I've let it run for about an hour on multiple occasions - nothing).

I've run the following to no avail:

debug vga=normal acpi=off

It will return one line and then hang at a blinking cursor. The line that shows up is "probing edd" or something. Typing "edd=off" after the debug line only brings me to a blank screen with a flashing cursor.

What could be going on?

please specify your hardware in more detail, also the ISO used (version number).

if the ISO installer does not work, you can think of:
