Hi,
I'm struggling to get my local system up and running.
First some information about my environment
- I'm using a DSL modem
- My internet connection is configured in my UDM SE
- On UDM I have configured different VLANs (1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 99)
- My Proxmox is running on a hardware with one physical network card. The server have a static IP in VLAN 50
- My local DNS server runs on a VM on Proxmox with a static IP also in VLAN 50
- Currently I'm only testing with VLAN 50 and 20. Therefore I have configured the DNS server for VLAN 20 to the static IP address from my PiHole in VLAN 50
- Currently (for test purposes) I have selected "Permit all origins" in my PiHole
- The firewall in UDM allows traffic from all VLANs with Port 53 to the static IP of my PiHole
My VMs in the VLAN 50 can use the PiHole and the local DNS resolving works perfectly.
The Problem is now, that my PC in VLAN 20 is not using my PiHole (counter for filtering ads is not going up) and local DNS names (Configured in PRHole) can not be resolved.
My target architecture would be, that I have network interface for all VLANs connected to my PiHole, so that all the traffic is routed through PiHole and DNS names can be resolved from all my VLANs. (Means in the final target also I want to switch back from "Permitt all origins" to "Allow only local origins")
But I could also live with the Permitt all. But fore sure that my traffic goes through the PiHole from all VLANs.
My PC have the DNS server configured.
Have someone a idea how can I achieved my target architecture? All what I have tested doesn't worked or led to the situation, that my Proxmox node wasn't reachable (wrong network interface config)
Thanks Daniel
