Issue getting 2.73TB partition LVM to have free space

Good Morning,

Probably a stupid question, but I've never had this problem with fdisk on smaller partitions.

I used parted to make a 3TB partition into a LVM for my proxmox 2.0

However, when I add it as an LVM into proxmox, it says 2.73Tib used out of 2.73 Tib.

I've tried a hundred times, same result. I can mount it as a directory, then the space is free, but as an LVM its full.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Hi,
of course is the vg full, because you fill the whole vg with the lv lvdata1!
If you only use 1TB for lvdata you can also add the vg as lvmstorage to use the remaining space for images (which are also logical volumes).

Hehe. Thanks Udo. I guess I should go back to the basics and start reading my manuals instead of using cheat sheets.
