I am able to install Ubuntu but I am unable to view the console after reboot it just looks garbled. I have tried to google for the issue and I am not able to locate a resolution. I have tried to reboot the whole vm environment and have tried different browsers and computers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have enclosed a screen shot.

Figured it out apparently it may have been a bad iso, which is weird because the iso installed just fine.

its a known issue, just select another virtual graphic card on the hardware tab.

VM/Hardware: Display - choose "VMware compatible"
