iSCSI / LVM best practive

Hi,

I want to use iSCSI. Latest proxmox release supports direct iSCSI LUN usage. What is best practice? Should I use iSCSI directly or with LVM?

setup iscsi storage on pve. then setup another pve storage lvm on top of the iscsi one.
then use the lvm storage to host RAW vm images

Thanks, that is what I intended to do but I was a bit uncertain as the new version offers direct iSCSI support.
