iSCSI Errors in System Log

Firstly, I am nowhere near an expert on Proxmox, and just dipping my toe into the server solution.

I have successfully set up my server, with internal storage etc, and have a couple of test VMs running without problem.

One of the main points for delivering Proxmox into my home lab is to make use of iSCSI, connecting an available SCSI Drive image from my Truenas NAS.

I have successfully created a drive on my TrueNAS and connected the Proxmox server to the available drive. I have then been able to create a couple of virtuals using that new drive without a problem.

The issue I am seeing is a lot of errors in my System log. Errors I cannot get ytp the bottom of resolving.

I have been Googling for two days and still do not seem to be able to resolve the issues. Also, these issues appear to directly affect Helper Scripts which now fail when I try and install one from https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/

Grateful for any advice please on the potential issue and fix?

I won't paste all the logs here, but here is a short snippet:

Hi @gswhiteuk , welcome to the forum.

For a homelab your iSCSI target returns an excessive number of unique portals. Not counting the IPv6 portal, there are 21 unique IPs just in your sample...

The "exit 15" refers to an iSCSI session that is already established, which would not surprise me given excessive complexity highlighted above.

My recommendation is to get familiar with iscsiadm tool, clear out all existing config, reduce the NAS complexity and start from scratch.

As for the "Helper Scripts" - you run them at your own risk. If you have issues with them - reach out to the maintainers via github.

Good luck

Thanks so much for replying.

I am not sure why there are so many connectors. I just set the disk on Truenas and pointed the proxmox server at the drive. Weird.

Thanks for your reply. I wasn’t fussed about the scripts. I can setup my own virtuals. I just thought it might be relevant with regards to the errors.

I will have a read and study some websites see what’s going on. Thanks again
