Just to be sure before i start :
I have an ISCSI San with 2 controllers and i have on each server 2 Qlogic ISCSI cards. I would like to boot from san over the qlogic cards and have all my luns multipath aware.
I saw some entry's in the wiki's about that but i'm still a bit confused. Could someone please correct me if i'm wrong or point me to the correct procedure to isntall and run proxmox ve.
If i understood well i can not just install with the v1.18 iso file. I must first create a debian kernel with iscsi and multipath enabled and boot from that one before i install proxmox (via apt-get) like listed on this page : http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Proxmox_ISCSI_installation
Or can i just start with the iso boot disk?
For multipath i need the steps detailed here http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ISCSI_Multipath in order to have multipath. so if i boot from san (which is multipath) i must incorporate those steps into the proxmox_iscsi_installation.
Final question then : since i'm looking to migrate from citrix xenserver to proxmox i would like to have the minimum migration possible. So is it worth to do the migration now or should i wait for proxmox ve 2.0 before i migrate? Will the migration from proxmox 1.8 to 2 be "plug and play" or should i just hold on for a few months and migrate directly to the newest version?
