I believe vzdump outputs the exact same logging info on stdout and to the logfile with the same name as the dump?

I run a script for daily snapshots + borgbackup/deduplication +prune, that output everything to a comprehensive logfile so have no need for the default named logfile. Is there a way to suprress it so I avoid having to script my way around to deleting it?

TL;DR: Is there a way to supress the writing of the standard vzdump logfile? (/var/lib/vz/dump/vzdump-*.log)

Hi,
no this is not possible, as the logs are also used to generate the relevant email body for automated email.

If you don't want the logfiles to persist after a successful backup, you will have to clean them up in your script.
