Is the search feature working in this forum ?

Hi,

I tried to search in posts using the search feature which is not working properly.
I have tried using advanced search, as well, seraching only in the titles, specifying the forums in which I want to search : whatever the search text is, it either return the same list (not matching the search) or nothing.

pretty sure it works.

I have tested the following:
Search Terms: Q-wulf openvswitch
Result: https://forum.proxmox.com/search/14028/?q=Q-wulf+openvswitch&o=date&c[node]=16
That is pretty much what i'd expect from this search.

I have also tried "Q-wulf ceph" and "Q-wulf cache", which both results in all of my posts where i ever talked about ceph or cache.

So i am pretty it works as intended ?

In fact I was looking for posts about "LXC" and then for posts about "ZFS".
It looks like the search does not work for words smaller than 4 letters.

Weird, might be truncating after 9 Pages (171 Hits - 19 per page)



I typically search there forums via:
"site:forum.proxmox.com ZFS" in google, as google gives me some more in depth options, that most forum software does not support.
Thats 1610 hits btw.

But, still there are 2 problems with the search :
- goto https://forum.proxmox.com/
- type "lxc" in the search field and button "search"
- you get "No result"
Using the advanced search, it works a bit better, and you can get the same page that you show me...

And, if you want a more specific search "Search titles only", you get this URL :
https://forum.proxmox.com/search/14131/?q=lxc&o=date&c[title_only]=1&c[node]=16
which does not filter on the title...

And you're right, I can achieve this using Google :
By searching on : allintitle: zfs site:forum.proxmox.com

But being able to search directly from the forum would be more convenient.

I'd try google.com instead with:

site:forum.proxmox.com "whatever you search for"

Once you are on a subforum, it works.
