Is it a problem to remove the local storage partition?

I want to make sure that no one else that may manage a given node puts and VMs or ISOs (or for that matter anything else) on the boot drive (regardless of partition) of the hypervisor, so I'd like to remove the local storage and unmount the share. Is there a problem with doing this? (ie: does ProxMox have some expectation of that partition being mounted there for some other purpose?)

I have more than just one reason for wanting to remove the partition, that one posted was just the one I felt like sharing.
