Is clamav really scanning in-out e-mails goining trough PMG? How to check?

How can I check if clamav is actually scanning emails?

I tried to check it in the logs, but there is nothing there.

I also checked via the status of the clamav-daemon service, but there is no specific information there either.

Is clamav really scans in-out e-mails? How to be sure?
