Invalid Server ID (subscription no longer working)

Hello,

I have purchased a 1 CPU license of the community edition and have had it installed and successfully running for a month or so now. When logging into Proxmox this morning I'm all of the sudden getting an error that my subscription is not valid. If I got to the subscription tab I see:

Status: Invalid Server ID

I have not changed anything on the server in the last few days. All of the hardware is the same and I haven't messed with any configuration settings.

Why am I all of the sudden getting this error? Do I need to request a new key?

Hi,

It doesn't say anything else besides what I mentioned in my original post. It's saying that my subscription is invalid and the reason is "Invalid Server ID". Other than that it has my server ID, subscription key, number of sockets, and the time it was last checked.

Your server ID is changed, therefore its invalid.

In order to register a key again with new server ID, you need to:

What causes the server ID to change? I figured it would be tied to something like the MAC address.

Reissuing the key fixed the issue, but I'm still very concerned as to how my ID changed in the middle of the night without me touching the system.
