I have a SuperMicro server with 4 onboard NIC's. Two are i350 and two are listed as i350/X540.
The straight i350's work fine, but the 540's don't show up. However, I get a link light and a "status:up" on my switch. I know that doesn't mean much, but pretty sure at least nothing is fried there. Motherboard is an X9DRW-3TF+.
I found this thread (below) that mentioned adding "pci=noaer" to grub, but I thought I'd see if anyone has any more recent experience with this oddity before I try it, and if there are any possible side effects to doing so?

I'm encountering an issue while installing Proxmox on a server rented from OVH. I'm using the latest "Proxmox VE 8.2 ISO Installer" and the server is equipped with an "Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller 10-Gigabit X540-AT2" network card (which has two Ethernet ports).
During installation, Proxmox detects another USB network card (used by OVH), which is then configured as the primary network card.
