hello I'm getting some miss results when searching for using old intel laptops for proxmox servers. I have a whole bunch of i3 laptops that are 4 core 4 threads and i would love to use one. However every laptop when i go into the bios to enable virtualization It says only Vt-x only. Is that all i need or I'm missing something to enable to be virtualized?

Currently i do not have any extra system or server to do some Vm testing. Sense I only need 1 core and 2GB of memory i should be okay as long as i can get it running. Can someone help me to figure this out please? I know how Amd works but not intel.

vt-x is all you need go ahead and set it up.

vt-d is for pcie passtrough, won't work on a laptop anyway.

Hello thank you. I don't need gpu passthrough. I just need to get a core or two for a vm. I do have 8 GB of memory and i found out 2GB of memory is not enough so I will assign it 4GB and 2 core which is the min to run this program. But my other question is what is the min to run proxmox for cpu cores and memory?
