Intel® 82579L network card not recognized

I have a (older) intel mobo with a Intel® 82579L networkcontroller on it.
The driver for the 'card' is not loaded: in lspci it is not mentioned.
The install also said that it could not find a supported network card.
How to install the driver for this card?

I found something in the intel https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005480/ethernet-products.html but the make install gives errors and when i do "insmod /lib/modules/<KERNEL VERSION>/kernel/drivers/net/e1000e/e1000e.ko" the file is not found.

 

[Impact]

e1000e is part of the kernel already. Please share
