I just want to ask if someone has successfully done this. I live in a shared accomodation and don't have direct access to the router. I do have Ubuntu Server and TrueNAS server connected to an ethernet switch where a PC that has WiFi sharing on. It's working ok and this is how I get by before hopefully able to move out to my own place.

I do have admin access to the WiFi router which is a tp-link Archer VR1600v but I'm not sure of what it all means. Only a few months ago have I gotten an ethernet switch and connect my PCs and even connect a PC that has no WiFi connect to the internet by having another PC with WiFi share it's internet.

I've exhausted my options and even asking ChatGPT and Bard to see if they can help but no. If any of you can suggest anything, I'd be happy to give it a go.

I once flashed OpenWRT on a 20€ second-hand router and set it up as a Wifi client connecting to a Wifi AP. So basically Wifi as the WAN. Then it NATed and all servers connected to the 4 LAN ports could use the internet. Speed wasn't great (300-400 Mbit I think) but at least it worked fine for letting PVE and TrueNAS, that won't come with wifi support, access the internet.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I can find one on marketplace then I'll give it a go.
