For a few days I have been trying to install proxmox ve on a ucs c220 M3 server and after clicking on "install proxmox ve" on the first installation page, there is a black screen which appears without giving me any further action and this for a long time.
I need help

Hi,

I assume you used the latest 8.1 ISO?

can you try the following?
When booting the ISO, select Install Proxmox VE (Terminal UI) and see if that fixes it for you.

Otherwise, you can also try navigating to the above entry, then pressing e on your keyboard.
In the text editor, navigate to the line starting with linux, move the cursor to the end of that line using the arrow keys and add nomodeset at the end, separated by a space from all the things before.
Then, just press either Ctrl-X or F10 to boot.

Coby, I have been playing with 3 separate UCS C220M3s to install PVE 8.1 and the issue I encountered was that the install would work but upon reboot the server would report no boot media found.

Changing the RAID controller in bios to the intel one fixed the issue for me and allowed the installation and config PVE

I still needed to setup the array in the LSI web interface.

I am in no way a Cisco or PVE expert but hope this helps in some way.

C.
