Hi,

We are looking to install a server monitoring agent on Proxmox however the installation fails. The agent is compatible with Ubuntu & Debian, however, the supplier has advised that Proxmox is not a supported platform.

Whilst the agent appears to partially install it is unable to be started manually or automatically. The installation log is below:

root@pve:~# ./LinuxInstaller-MyClient.sh

Whilst I have been informed that the agent is not compatible with Proxmox out of the box I am hopeful that it may be able to work.

Proxmox is based on Debian, and we use all standard Debian repositories. So I can't follow that argumentation that Debian is supported, but not Proxmox - that is total nonsense ...

Hi Dietmar, I could not understand it either however regardless the installation still fails. From the output above can you suggest what may be required to get it working?

Sorry, I do not know that software. The error message say: "Please contact Naverisk support".

I would simply follow that suggestion. Proxmox is Debian, so its supported.

If they still reject to help, install on plain Debian without proxmox packages ...

Hi Dietmar, just wanted to close the loop on this one in case someone else goes down the same path.

As you suggested I spoke to the Naverisk support team and they immediately escalated the issue and now have their agent working on Proxmox installations. This is a great tool for monitoring systems and would be of benefit to any Proxmox user.
