Hi!

I had Debian with DE and after installing Proxmox on top of it I can't get into DE.

I followed this guide ( https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Stretch ) to install Proxmox over debian because I wanted to have desktop on the same machine for various reasons. Installing Proxmox on Debian sounded as a better option than just installing gnome on Proxmox host.

Either way I got to the
Code:
 apt install proxmox-ve postfix open-iscsi
part and rebooted it seems to boot, but after reaching "reached target graphical interface" line it just stays there, no desktop. I can switch to other tty and log into terminal\cli.

What did I miss? How can I fix this?

Thanks for your time and attention!

hi
Also is Proxmox install just a Debian with Proxmox VE preinstalled, or does it remove any packages?
we use our own kernel and a few modified/patched packages that normally exist upstream, but outside of that, it's pretty much the same.

I mean will I miss anything if I install Proxmox and DE on top VS starting with Debian and installing Proxmox on top?
it should end up the same.
