Installed PBS on tertiary PVE in cluster/HA for testing. Can I claim the LVM partition for PBS?

I'm in the process of learning Promox for our migration away from VMWare. Unfortunately, I only have three servers available for the test lab and they are configured in a cluster using SMB/CFS for centralized storage. I've installed PBS on the 3rd server in the cluster. This server has a 5TB LVM partition that's currently empty. If I resize and create a new additional partition ext4 and make it mountable for PBS, will it break the PVE server?

My other option is a dedicated machine, but it's only an Intel iMac that's about 8 years old. (4 CPUs, 8GB RAM, 1TB 5200 RPM HDD)

Thanks,
AKC
