Finally installing Proxmox on bare metal server for the first time. Yesterday I got through to the installation screens without an NVidia video card i.e. through the motherboards on board VGA apator and an old monitor. However, this didn't work because there was a warning in the middle of the screen from the monitor which blocked all installation options. So today I installed a video card and connected a different monitor which has the appropriate DVI atapter.
Now the installation hangs right after pressing enter on the first Proxmox installation screen:

Any ideas how to fix this?

That was it, thanks!

P.S. FYI, you can just press "e" whilst over the (Graphical) option. Works just fine.

the solution is:
in the installer you choose "Terminal UI" and press "e"! now you can edit the script. in the line beginning with "linux" you add " nomodeset" and press ctrl x.
