Installation fails when I attempt to install Proxmox VE (1.4-4390) on a Dell Poweredge SC1425 Server.

The message I get is:

The Proxmox VE could not be installed.
Installation of package python2.5_2.5.2-15_amd64.deb failed

The server has 2 3.4GHz Xeon CPU's (not AMD). Are there any boot flags that I should be setting or an alternate CD that I should be using to install.

I have burnt the ISO twice now and my desktop system verified the burn to be successful. I also know that the system is in good running order. I recently had Ubuntu Server 9.10 64bit installed and running on the system.

How large is your target disk? How much RAM does the system have? Is the CD really OK (please use a CD-R - not a CD-RW).

My Target Drive is 80Gig
The system has 4GB of RAM
I have used only CD-R, Memorex brand CD's and I am quite sure they are fine... I used the same media and burner to burn Ubuntu Server and that installed fine.

The install runs fine for about 7 minutes after it asks for the system name & IP info, etc. then it stops with the python package failure message.

I only saw such issues with faulty hardware, most times RAM - do an intense memory test, update your mainboard bios to the latest version - this is always a good idea.

I flashed my firmware and changed my hard drives. Proxmox installed properly after the changes.

Thank you very much for the pointers.
