Installation failed "unable to get device..."

Hi all,

while installing Proxmox VE 7.0.1 for the first time I get the message "Installation failed!" and "unable to get device for partition 1 on device /dev/mmcblk0". Is there a way to fix this?

We do not support installing on SSD cards. Please use a SSD or spinning disk instead.

I'm only clarifying because I just made a post and am now lazily browsing the forum. I didn't know what mmcblk was off the top of my head so the answer confused me... Dietmar meant an SD Card.

What are the reasons for this?

I have a mini PC here for testing and have no SSD at hand. Because of the very limited timeframe of the testing period, I still need to install it on the emmc. Is there a way to overcome this error?

Would get a normal SSD/HDD if testing phase succeeds.

Alternatively is installing on a USB flash drive ok?
