Hello,

i've been trying to install qemu-guest-agent on Debian 7, but it does not seem to have qemu-guest-agent package in the repository.

Is there another way to install qga on this OS or is it maybe in some other repository?

Best regards,

Sure, we "inherited" a lot VM's that are currently hosted on VMWare and we are now transferring them to Proxmox. We wish to have qemu-guest-agent installed on all of the VM's in our cluster.

I was wondering if there is any other way than pulling deb packages from repository to install qga on older operation systems.

Best regards,

I do not see that package if i check repository.

Upgrade is currently not an option, where can i get sources and how to install it manually?

Actually thanks for the hint guys, i've tried @LnxBill package but i got the dependency error:
Code:
root@server:/usr/src# dpkg -i qemu-guest-agent_2.1+dfsg-12+deb8u14_amd64.deb
Selecting previously unselected package qemu-guest-agent.
(Reading database ... 49717 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking qemu-guest-agent (from qemu-guest-agent_2.1+dfsg-12+deb8u14_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of qemu-guest-agent:
 qemu-guest-agent depends on libc6 (>= 2.14); however:
Version of libc6:amd64 on system is 2.13-38+deb7u12.

dpkg: error processing qemu-guest-agent (--install):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 qemu-guest-agent

Then i took this one http://archive.debian.org/debian/po...t-agent_2.1+dfsg-12+deb8u5a~bpo70+1_amd64.deb and it installed on a Debian Wheezy.

Best regards,
