good morning,

one of our customers has bought the Proxmox subscription, we would like to install the server. However, it has never been activated yet.

Should we install Proxmox with the no-subscription repositories and then change to the enterprise repositories? Will this create a version conflict?

Thanks in advance.

Hello! You can install it with no-subscription and activate enteprise afterwards. So the steps are:

1. Install Proxmox VE via ISO/USB whatever
2. Login to UI and make sure you have networkin to WAN
3. Activate the Nodes with your subscription
4. Update the servers via ui

After a clean install you dont need to change anything to the repos, because they default to enterprise anway and are working after you activate your nodes (activate your subscription via ui).

There is no no-subscription repository involved here, yet the rest it totally correct.

Yeah because its not needed, when activation is done directly after baseinstall?

Thank for the answers, unfortunatly i can't use the DVD because it's a "highly" customized configuration for security reasons.

then yes, you need to install using no-subscription, and then add the subscription and switch to the enterprise repo settings. it will take a bit for the enterprise repo to get newer versions than those you'll have gotten from no-subscription in that case, but that is okay.
