Hi,

I install Proxmox on this server (Proxmox recognise the smart harray) without problem, but at restart the server stuck with a message "Attempting Boot From Hard Drive (C:)".
No other message, or loader error.

How can I force the startup process?

Thanks!

hmm, check BIOS and set properly first boot device? But as usual it can be something else.

Sounds to me like the initial boot drive is not the installation drive. I face this issue a lot. Especially when the drives have irrelevant numbers designated in the bios. Normally, I use a smaller drive for OS, and that helps to distinguish in the bios which needs to boot first. You may have to cycle through all the drives. It's probably easier to hit "F11" at boot to get to your boot options, and cycle the drives that way.

This machine had on board an old ESXi (4.1) and working well.
Now I reformatted this host and install Proxmox VE 3.1 (the installation process is going fine, proxmox recognize the array volume), but -as I said- it doesn't start.

I don't think it's a Bios problem: the bios try to start from the array (that identified with C).
It's an old BIOS, this is the menu involving boot process:

1. Standard Boot Order (IPL):

IPL:1 CD-ROM
IPL:2 Floppy Drive
IPL:3 USB Drivekey (See Boot Controller Order)
IPL:4 PCI embedded HP Gigabit adapter

2. Boot Controller Order

Ctlr:1 PCI slot 1 HP Smart Array P400 Controller
Ctlr:2 PCI Embedded HP integrated PCI IDE Controller

As you can see, Boot controller order impose to start from array first...
But nothing happen...

Please can you help me further or send me to similar problem to troubleshooting these?

Thanks in advance...
