Hi All.
I have a Dell R710 with 48GB of RAM - 10x 900GB Sas 10k drives.
I want to install the OS on an SSD - I have purchased the below but it wont be arriving just just, i attempt setup will be a straight forward on - 2 SSDs for the OS in RAID1 for redundancy (this will also hold my ISO and CT images then the SAS drives will be purely RAW data storage

I am thinking of using either 2 of the SAS drives (in RAID1) for my VMs or using a 1TB NVMe M.2 (Using a PCI adaptor) - and then just backup the VMs. - What are peoples thought on this. I understand if my M.2 dies then i will need to replace this and restore all VMs where on the other hand the SAS drives will add some redundancy (still backing up the VMs), im looking for speed (nothing much will be used on the VMs - some test boxes) I will also be running VMs for torrent sites my Radarr/Sonarr/Bittorrent/Sabnzd all under one VM, i know i can set containers up for these but can't find any proper guides for this. One VM (windows) for Plex - thinking of settings another VM for freenas or something similar for my plex storage (currently i have all my drives connected to a SAS backplane and this is been passed through to the VM (any suggestions on best use) - I will be getting a MD1200 soon but not sure weather just pass through all setup for NAS (this will only be used for Plex)
The above is a little back ground of what im going, but my main question is:
Can i plug my SSDs into some usb caddies - build the Proxmox OS as RAID until the card arrives then just plug it into it, i think it should just work?
