Hi,

I currently have Ubuntu running KVM and QEMU for my VMs. I have come across Proxmox, and I have no idea how to get it up and running for my environment. I am a novice on Linux, so any advice would be appreciated.

Currently, I use Virt-Manager to manage my VMs, but it's not very functional. Something like Proxmox would be great, since I can then use the Web interface from a Windows PC to manage the VMs. I also use the "virsh" command in a terminal to do other VM related tasks.

Thanks in advance
Sheldon

Hi,
proxmox runs on baremetal - make the first try with an empty disk (and only this disk connected).
During the installation the whole content of the disk will be erased.

If your system is up and running, you should be able to migrate your kvm-VMs (copy the harddisk-files).

i move some VM from ubuntu KVM

BUT

i had to create a new VM in proxmox and before start this VM i overwrite the vm-disk with the file created in ubuntu.
