Hi All,

I'm trying to install Proxmox 7.2 on an intel NUC (NUC5PPYB) w/ a n3700 cpu and 8 GBs of ram. Below is the error that I'm receiving

Watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 883s! [modprobe:588] (The cpu core that gets stuck seems to change if I reboot the machine and try to install again)

I've run a memory test in Windows and in the installer, both of which passed. Virtualization is turned on in the BIOS and I updated the BIOS to the most recent version I could find.

Anything else I could try?

No idea how to fix it but if you don't need ZFS then installing Debian 11 with PVE on top would be a workaround: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_11_Bullseye

Did you check your disk? I have such CPU lockups when using defect disks.

The machine boots into Windows fine so I imagine the disk is alright. I will look into just installing Debian, thanks for the reply.
