I'm trying to install Proxmox 4.4 in this appliance.

I plug the iso image on a Verbatim USB stick using dd command (as wiki says).

The problem is that the appliance doesn't boot from this USB stick (but it boots from another Verbatim USB with another SO).

What could be the problem?

Edit: same problem boottin my PC from a Kingston USB.

TIA

If at first USB doesn't boot, try another make/model of USB key. Some sticks just don't boot things, even if they boot other things. It's just black magic really.

If more than one stick is still refusing to boot, then try every possible permutation of making the bootable media: dd, unetbootin, rufs... anything you can google. Eventually, some combination of hardware and software will get you there.

And if you can boot by CD/DVD media then do that. It's almost always more reliable in my experience.

try with usb 2.0 if you can, can you post the name of your motherboard? i worked with rufus for create isos on windows, and always is fine.

No way to boot with USB.. I solved using an external CD/DVD reader.

The same ploblem occur in LIVA Z(N4200).
I use bootable USB made with ImageUSB / Rufus / UNetbootin / win32 disk imager.
Some USB worked in another machine.

Alos I tried USB CD/DVD reader too.

Is this hardware is unsupported?
Can you think of any reasons? CPU? Motherboard?
