so I read on how to install proxmox watched videos but one thing not directly addressed is how to get to the IP via browser, if I should in my current situation set it to static or DHCP.
To give a background, I have a ASUS RT-AC3200 router. It's aging and I'd like to to replace it but keep it around for emergencies. I also have ubiquiti PoE router and another Ubiquiti 5 port Edge Router X. These were gifted and have been reset to factory. currently they are not used.
The Asus router is currently connected to a 48 port 1Gbps network PoE switch that more or less a managed switch that's just dumb (no real config or VLans set up on it).
so my current question, in order for my laptop to access the browser on the ProxMox computer, would I simply be able to connect it to my large switch then isntall proxmox or should I just simply connect it to one of the unused ubiquiti switches?
Eventually, as stated the ASUS router will be replaced with the proxmox comptuer running OPNSense which will then be connected to the 48port PoE Switch. My concern was how the guys in the videos are doing it but everyone setup is different and they don't really go over this.
the Ubiquiti wifi 6 lr will be connected to the swtich and it lights up without an issue so I'm planning on using possibly the edge router x for this once proxmox and OPNSense is set up.
my other thought was to have a laptop directly connected to the proxmox computer but I have no idea if this will work if I assign a status IP and Gateway to the laptop or if one of my switches is necssary.
