I noticed a strange behaviour my Proxmox (VE 8.0.3). CPU usage and load jumps after a few days and stays there.
PROXMOX SUMMARY:
Looking at the running processes I can just find ksmd with high usage:
"Kernel Samepage Merging is a kernel feature that allows for lesser memory consumption on the VM Host Server by sharing data VM Guests have in common. The KSM daemon ksmd periodically scans user memory looking for pages of identical content which can be replaced by a single write-protected page."
The 2 VMs running:
- just 2 VMs installed -> their CPU usage is unchanged
- nothing else / running or changed
