We are seeing total emails under statistics as XXX (600) however, mail traffic for incoming or outgoing (not used) is 0.

It seems 7.0.8 is severely broken. On the main dashboard, I see list of top receivers. When I go to statistics, it shows higher number with 0 Mb.

what exactly do you compare? can you give more concrete examples whats wrong?
On the dashboard for last 24 hours, I see 201.44KiB incoming traffic.
Now, if I got to statistics, incoming mail traffic .20MiB however number of incoming emails are 732.
Further if I navigate to domain and receiver domain, incoming emails are only 25.
This appliance is put into production in last 24 hours only. Receiver incoming for whole month is still 0 (No data in database).

0.20MiB are ~ 200KiB, so that seems correct? (i don't see how the number of mails plays a role here?)
incoming mails also counts rejected mails
also, check if 'advanced statistics filters' are activated (Configuration -> Options). without those filters you should see the 'raw' data
