Current as of 2023 December 15: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager#_remove_a_cluster_node

After removal of the node, its SSH fingerprint will still reside in the known_hosts of the other nodes. If you receive an SSH error after rejoining a node with the same IP or hostname, run pvecm updatecerts once on the re-added node to update its fingerprint cluster wide.

This is incorrect documentation - the bug 4886 as of now does not allow for adding the new re-added node to the known_hosts.

Please update the documentation while the bug has not been addressed.

Also missing from the docs is a proper piece of advice of how to run or not run at all ssh-keygen -R - see bug 4252.

FYI @TimRyan & @dcsapak: re https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/v...1-1-november-23-iso.137502/page-2#post-616090

There are many others in the past, but this is a month since all this info has been made available to everyone in charge.

The bugs in question have @t.lamprecht & @fabian on the email list. What I fail to understand is how is this efficient for any organisation - to have people come to forum, ask for help, get outdated advice, get more confusion for 10+ years, it sure adds up over time in terms of wasted resources.
