It is admittedly a different time span although you would expect the hourly average used by proxmox to be lover than the actual. Any ways

Proxmox ~23%:

Windows 11 ~ 10%:

Am I missing anything here?

Thanks I had the latest version from 9th Jan 2023 already installed, however I tried the "repair".
This indeed brought down the CPU usage reported by Proxmox to 10% a per Windows's task manager value.

Thanks!

As a side note... the issue reappears after a reboot.
23.5% VM CPU usage reported on the host again.
How bizarre...

What I can add here is that uninstalling the virtio-win-guest (apart from making remote administration impossible) decreases the CPU to where you would expect. As soon as I reinstall and reboot back to where it was before 23% CPU used. I'm not sure this is relevant (since you mentioned ballooing) I have a GPU pass though on this VM. I will try to remove as a test...

\\EDIT: Removing the Pass-through GPU didn't help.

Hi.

I mentioned Balloon because sometimes additional steps had to be taken, not just installing the driver...

But it seems that some WIN update changed the system library and we will have to wait for new virtio-win drivers.

It's really interesting

EDIT: But balloon is about RAM.
