if vms dont use all ram allocated

hi all,

i have 6 window vms each have 16gb each vm so total of 96gb

now lets say some vms dont use all the RAM, will it get redistributed for other vms or not

As with every operating system, it will be used to cache read data so that your computer gets faster or stays fast.

Here is what the manual (that I linked for you) says:

When setting the minimum memory lower than memory, Proxmox VE will make sure that the minimum amount you specified is always available to the VM, and if RAM usage on the host is below 80%, will dynamically add memory to the guest up to the maximum memory specified.

When multiple VMs use the auto allocate facility, it is possible to set a Shares coefficient which indicates the relative amount of the free host memory that each VM should take.
