IDE Channels

I remember when I would build older computers, I learned that when there were 2 disks on 1 IDE channel, only 1 of them could talk to the motherboard at a time.

I see Proxmox's default behavior when adding a second disk is to use the same channel as the first.

Does the same theory apply here?

no. just connect up to 4 IDE devices.
