I had 2 proxmox 5.4 cluster.
Cluster 1 contains 5 nodes, Cluster 2 contains 1 nodes. Each node has 1 VM.
I want to move that 1 node (contains VM) inside Cluster 2 to join Cluster 1.
Is there any way to do this? I'm beginner using proxmox.
Thank

Hi,
for the VM, make a backup that you can restore after joining the cluster (best to test restoring right away once).

Do you actually have a cluster already defined on the single node or is it just the existing VM that prevents joining? If you have a cluster, the only good way is to reinstall the node (the backup of the VM should be on a storage that's not overwritten by reinstallation of course) and then join the other cluster. Otherwise you just need to remove the VM before joining and restore from the backup afterwards.

That said, PVE 5 has been end-of-life for a year, so you should consider upgrading.

Hi
Thank you for your feedback.

In my case, I actually have a cluster that already defined on the single node.

Actually i’ve search for solutions on internet. It say that it prevent joining if there’s VM exist. It’s ok to backup the VM and restore back.

To reinstall the node i need to go to the server center to do it, but now i am working remotely. Does reinstall the node is the only option?

You can also try the following, I think the same commands should work for PVE 5.
