I need help with proxmox

Hello!!!

First to all forgive my english, i´m cuban so i speak spanish, i´ll try to speak english as good as i can, I´m new using Proxmox and I would like to know how to install it, if installed as an operating system or just like i install a Linux distribution and then install the Promox. I am a recent graduate of computer engineering, and I've started to train me as manager of networks, services are virtualized and used here Proxmox, a few days ago the server hard drive has started to give problems so i´m afraid that everything is lost. I have backups of each virtual machine that i have in my PROXMOX, but as I've ever installed or configured as I have little doubt restore these saved on another disk and keep things running as usual. If someone tell me how to install Proxmox from the beguining and restore the saved as I have, besides my big question is whether Proxmox is a program that is installed after installing a Linux distribution (if so I recommend distribution), or if Proxmox is itself as an operating system. You cna download proxmox iso from: http://www.proxmox.com/downloads/proxmox-ve/17-iso-images

thats the fastest way to install and get proxmox up on a new machine.

If you have an operatgn system running you can add the repositories to the linux distro and use the repository to apt-get install proxmox.

Hi,
proxmox ve is an distribution - debian based with an modified kernel (redhat based).
You can also install proxmox on a debian-system (squeeze) like Chris already wrote. But I prefer for an beginners to use the normal installation.

Simply test it - it's easy and fast.
