Good day everybody,
I have a small problem.

I have a Linux root server at Server4you

Proxmox is installed and I can also access it.

The VM just doesn't get internet I don't know why maybe you can help me?

if you need further information from me I will of course try to answer it as soon as possible ;-)

hi,

* have you configured the network settings inside the guest?

* can you ping 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 from the VM?

# network interface settings; autogenerated
# Please do NOT modify this file directly, unless you know what
# you're doing.
#
# If you want to manage parts of the network configuration manually,
# please utilize the 'source' or 'source-directory' directives to do
# so.
# PVE will preserve these directives, but will NOT read its network
# configuration from sourced files, so do not attempt to move any of
# the PVE managed interfaces into external files!

And your VMs have vmbr2 as their NIC?
Then you'll either need iptables rules for this network as well or you install a firewall VM which does the routing from vmbr2 to vmbr1.

It's in the wiki page I linked above. If you have one public address then you have to work with that.
Either you install a firewall VM with another bridge as LAN or you have to have the host make the NAT for the machines.

If your public address is connected via eth0 you will probably have to setup the rules with this NIC and not the other one.

Maybe you should start with a small local Installation first where everything works pretty much out of the box. After grasping the concepts you can still switch to a hosted server.
